I have been having problems with my student finance and have therefore been unable to show proof of my eligibility for maintenance grants. I have received a £100 bursary, but should shortly be receiving approval for maintenance grant. Will any additional money i am eligible to receive be back dated? thanks

If you have enquiries regarding payment, please check your bank account details recorded in your SOLE page and talk to staff in the cashier’s office in the Edward Elgar Building.

As indicated above – if you are receiving a standard bursary and believe you are entitled to a higher rate you need to take a copy of your financial support statement to the cashier’s office in the Edward Elgar Building.

It has only recently come to my attention that even though I receive a full Maintenance Grant the bursary the university has given me is the amount that is given to someone with a low Maintenance Grant. This happened last year and has happened again this year. I would like to know why this is and how do I receive my full bursary including last years? If you could help I would be grateful.

I agree with the general view of this being a total disdvantage to sudents not living on campus. I would just like to say the change was not clearly addressed to students and in some module guides the time is not shown at all. If changes are to be made it is at most important to make students totally aware ie email!

Change it to at least 2pm!

Please can we put students first? Many of us are mature students juggling lots of different things ie- work, children, uni, placements etc. It would be lovely to think that the above had already been taken into consideration? Many of us do not want to have to rely on the 24hour extension , although granted we can hand them in a day or two before ( accepted).

PS I know its a problem for other students not just the mature ones :0)

You do not need to apply for the bursary, if you are eligible it will be paid automatically.

Thank you for that, just another quick question how do i apply for a bursary? Ive had a look on the student login pages but cannot seem to find anything on bursaries.
