Firstpoint Early Closure

firstpoint will close slightly earlier on Monday 3rd July 2017 at 16:00.

The Peirson Study and Guidance Centre will remain open throughout via the 24 hour entrance.

Car Park L Closure Summer 2017

We will be carrying out refurbishment works to Halls of Residence this summer.  To make way for a contractor’s compound for these works, it will be necessary to close Car Park L (rear of Evesham and Pershore Halls) and also some spaces near to Berrow Hall from the evening of Wednesday 14 June to Friday 8 September inclusive.

If you are disabled/a blue badge holder, which necessitates you parking in these areas, please email carparking@worc.ac.uk or telephone the main security control room on x5495 and they will be able to work with you to identify suitable alternative parking.

NHS professionals recruitment event

NHS professionals will be hosting a recruitment event on 5th June  at 5-8pm in the Conference Centre (Hereford Room). If you’re looking for work to fit around your clinical/medical studies, working flexible hours via NHS Professionals could be the perfect solution. Car Park N – Partial Closure from 22 May onwards

We will be carrying out roofing repair works to Edward Elgar this summer.  To make way for a contractor’s compound for these works, it will be necessary to close off some of the spaces in Car Park N – adjacent to the Geo Garden.  The area is highlighted in pink on the photo below.

The spaces will be closed off from Monday 22 May until the end of August.

We anticipate that the disabled spaces in this car park will remain accessible but if you are disabled/a blue badge holder and you encounter any difficulty, please email carparking@worc.ac.uk or telephone the main security control room on x5495 and they will be able to work with you to identify suitable alternative parking.

University of Worcester funded Vacation Research Studentships

The University of Worcester is offering 20 funded Vacation Research Assistantships.  The roles are varied and will provide undergraduates and recent graduates of the University of Worcester with “hands on” experience of working on a research project over the summer vacation.  Successful candidates will gain an insight into a research career and enhance their CV.

To allow access for essential maintenance works on Tuesday 9 May, it will be necessary to close the Binyon car park temporarily.

The car park will be closed on the evening of Monday 8 May and will be closed all day on Tuesday 9 May.

Riverside Car Park Closure 26/27 April

To allow for access for contractors to carry out some ground clearance works behind the Riverside building, it will be necessary to close the Riverside car park temporarily.

The car park will be closed overnight on Wednesday 26 April and remain closed until approximately 10am on Thursday 27 April.  Once reopened, some bays will remain closed off.

The gravelled “overflow” carpark at the rear of the Arena will still be available for use.

Worcester Award Deadline

The deadline for handing in Worcester Award log books at firstpoint is Thursday 13th April at 5.30pm. If you have done enough hours and activities for the Bronze Award, you can hand in your log book now and aim for Silver or Gold in 2017-18. Everything you have done for Bronze would count towards Silver/Gold.

Important Information – Blackboard Upgrade

Important Information – Blackboard Upgrade

On Saturday 18th March Blackboard will be undergoing a system upgrade to improve and fix certain core functionality within the system.

In order to minimise disruption to the service for both staff and students, we have scheduled the technical work to be carried out overnight. The work will begin on Saturday 18th March at 18:00 and will require approximately 16 hours of downtime to the system. The work is scheduled to be complete at 10:00 on Sunday 19th March.

Car Park Closure (St John’s) Friday 3 March

In order to make way for access equipment to carry out essential maintenance to University buildings,  it will be necessary to close the following car parks tomorrow, Friday 3 March.

  • Car Park B next to the Peirson Building
  • Car Park G next to Binyon / Sports Centre

You may remember that we gave notice to close these carparks last week but, due to Storm Doris, we were not able to carry out the works as planned.
